The motors in many types of machines will have built in protection. In cars, farm machinery, or other moving vehicles, the motor will have a built-in protective covering, as well as being protected by the other parts around it. Motors in factories, other industrial facilities, or even ones that are outside are more in need of additional protection. There is always a danger of them being damaged by passing vehicles, such as a forklift with materials in a factory or a passing car if the motor is outside. If there are any sorts of liquids in the area, such as those used in manufacturing or even just rainwater that has leaked through the roof, there is the possibility of it getting into the motor. A protective sheet of metal, a simple covering, can be effective electric motor protection that prevents these and many other problems.

We do not often think of motors as delicate. They can produce incredible amounts of power, and are so common that many people may not think about them at all. But motors can be damaged relatively easily, and it can be quite expensive to repair them. This is especially true of electric motors, so electric motor protection is very important. Though they are becoming more popular, they are still not as common as gasoline powered motors, and it can be harder to find someone to fix an electric motor. Parts can also be expensive. So taking care of an electric motor is the best course of action.
