Electric Motor Protective Cover

Motors are susceptible to damage and decay because of their nature. Damage to electric motors can be even more of a problem, as they are still new enough that parts are expensive and mechanics hard to find. An electric motor protective cover is therefore a very sound investment. Motors can be damaged in different ways. They have many moving parts, which can be damaged by things hitting the motor or moisture getting into it. Damage is more common in motors that are in vehicles, as the move more.

A protective cover can prevent damage from collisions (side damage), something falling on the vehicle (top side damage), and something being thrown up by the tires (bottom side damage). Fortunately, most vehicle motors have built-in protection, from a protective cover and the other parts of the vehicle. Motors in factories and other stationary motors also need protection. A protective cover prevents damage on a factory floor if, for example, the motor is struck by a forklift carrying supplies or machinery being moved in, out, or around. It can also protect it from spilled liquids or even rainwater from a leaky roof.

An electric motor protective cover can even help the motor run more efficiently; some types of covers create an air tunnel that keeps the motor cooler, reducing the amount of power needed for a cooling system and increasing the life of the motor. It will last longer when run consistently at a cooler temperature; so a protective cover can not only prevent damage but also reduce operating, repair, and replacement costs.
